A few weeks ago I decided to buy The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald: Birthday World Video online. For people who don't know what The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald is, it's basically a cartoon series on VHS that was made in the late 90's and given out at McDonald's. Unfortunately, I was only able to get the first 3 out of the videos because they kept selling out at McDonald's.

Anyways, continuing with the story , so I decided to look around online to see where I can find the tape at the cheapest price and I ended up finding a listing for a used copy on Amazon.com for only $2.39 but then I thought to myself "hmmm, can I really trust buying from Amazon again even after I got that 'new' cordless phone 2 years ago." There were several reasons why it wasn't new; first, it wasn't in it's original box; second, it was greasy and third, it had a greeting of a UK woman saying "Hello you have reached Huff and Puff Maid Service. this is Peggy, I am either out or on another line. Please leave a message after the beep." I'm pretty sure that Panasonic wouldn't leave that as their default greeting!

So, I then I thought "What's the chance of something going wrong again?" and ordered it anyways. Well, guess what? Something did go wrong!! Leave it up to Amazon for this! I opened the package today and saw the Birthday World case and put the VHS tape into my VCR without looking at the front of the tape and guess what comes up on the screen, GRIMACE ISLAND, WHICH I ALREADY HAVE!!! I mean how could anyone be so stupid as to screw up a simple order like that?! This is just ridiculous because I've shopped online at plenty pf web sites and have gotten exactly what I ordered, even on eBay I never had any problems, but it had to be Amazon!

If you ever decide to shop on Amazon be very careful so you don't end up buying something more expensive than what I bought and end up in a situation like this. I don't think you'd like buying a used PS3 for $250 only to find out you've gotten a used broken PS2.

UPDATE:

I contacted the seller, Collectons, and this is the email I got in return:

"Nick,

Looks like somehow the wrong video got in the wrong box. You can send
that back to us for a refund. We do not have anymore copies of that title."

Wow, that's just "great" they somehow don't have any more copies and can only give me a refund for the price that I bought it for, but the thing is that it cost more to ship it than the price of the item itself. The shipping was $2.98, so I not only wont get that $2.98 back for returning it but I also will have to pay another $2.98 or so just to ship it back to get $2.39 back! By doing the math you can see that I'd be a complete waste of money to return it.

$2.39 (cost of item) + $2.98 (cost of shipping with USPS) = $5.37 (my loss before returning) + $2.98 (cost of shipping back) - $2.39 (refund for item) = $5.96 (My loss after getting refunded!!)
